Substitute Text in Vim

Use s to substitute the character under the cursor or S to substitute the whole line. Both commands enter Insert mode immediately.

Commands you practise

s
Delete the character under the cursor and immediately start typing. It is the fastest way to expand a single-character placeholder into a full word.
S
S deletes the current line and immediately starts Insert mode. It is the quickest way to clear a line and rewrite it from scratch.

Levels

  1. Initial Intentions (easy): Expand the single-letter configuration keys into their full names.
  2. Python Makeover (medium): Refactor the parameter and replace the placeholder comment line.
  3. Dry Environment (hard): Efficiently update the duplicate configuration blocks using dot repetition.

Each level opens a real Neovim session in your browser with a start file and a target file. Edit one into the other in as few keystrokes as you can, then race the vimbot's solution.
