Block Selection in Vim

Enter blockwise Visual mode with Ctrl-v to select rectangles of text. It is useful for column edits and repeated inserts.

Commands you practise

Ctrl-v
Start blockwise Visual mode to select a precise rectangular area of text. It's the secret to editing multiple columns simultaneously with ease.

Levels

  1. Unstar the Fruits (easy): Remove the bulky '#* ' prefixes from the start of each line.
  2. No More Temp Ports (medium): Strip out the temporary '[TEMP] ' labels from the middle of the port listings.
  3. Purge the Errors (hard): Isolate the core test function names by stripping the error prefixes and fail suffixes.

Each level opens a real Neovim session in your browser with a start file and a target file. Edit one into the other in as few keystrokes as you can, then race the vimbot's solution.
