Yank with Motion in Vim

Copy text covered by a motion with y{motion}. Pair it with word or line motions for precise yanks - and keep text objects in mind for later.

Commands you practise

y{motion}
Yank the text a motion covers: yw grabs a word, 2yw grabs two. Pair it with P or p to drop the copy exactly where you want it.

Levels

  1. Go Bananas (easy): Yank just the fruit name to complete the second declaration.
  2. Backwards Approved (medium): Yank backward to copy the status and jump your cursor for a quick paste.
  3. Summary to To (hard): Yank multiple words precisely without any trailing whitespace to fill the destination.

Each level opens a real Neovim session in your browser with a start file and a target file. Edit one into the other in as few keystrokes as you can, then race the vimbot's solution.
