Yank Line in Vim

Yank the current line with yy. In Neovim, Y instead yanks from the cursor to the end of the line.

Y
Yank from the cursor to the end of the line. Y is the modern, lightning-fast shortcut to copy partial lines and paste them instantly.
yy
Yank (copy) the current line with yy, then press p to duplicate it. Perfect for quickly cloning and editing configs or imports.

Levels

  1. Double Vision (easy): Duplicate the host configuration line using yy and insert register.
  2. Thrice as Nice (medium): Duplicate the list item to have three identical items using the faster Y command.
  3. Secure the Perimeter (hard): Apply the secure template line to all targets using Y and register 0.
