Directional Deletes in Vim

Delete in the four basic directions by combining d with h, j, k, and l. This makes small structural deletes feel immediate.

Commands you practise

dh
Delete the character directly to the left of your cursor. It's a precise, directional backspace that keeps your cursor right where you are working.
dj
Delete the current line and the line below it in one quick stroke. Perfect for clearing out double-line blocks or obsolete statements.
dk
Delete the current line and the line above it in one go. Perfect for wiping out temporary debug code along with its comment header.
dl
Delete a single character right under your cursor. Combining delete with basic movements makes precise structural edits feel natural.

Levels

  1. The Double E (easy): Delete the duplicate letter at the end of the word.
  2. Mind the Gap (medium): Remove the extra space before apple, then drop the two temp items at the bottom.
  3. Four-Way Sweep (hard): Clean up the extra headers, duplicate operators, semicolons, and trailing footers using all four directional deletes.

Each level opens a real Neovim session in your browser with a start file and a target file. Edit one into the other in as few keystrokes as you can, then race the vimbot's solution.
