Screen Jumps in Vim

Move the cursor to a fixed position on the visible screen without scrolling: H to the top line, M to the middle, L to the bottom. Pairs naturally with the scrolling commands.

Commands you practise

H
Jump the cursor directly to the top line of the screen. Pair it with M for middle and L for bottom to navigate your viewport instantly.
M
Move the cursor instantly to the middle line of the screen. Combine with H and L to jump around your visible code without scrolling.
L
Jump instantly to the lowest visible line on your screen. It is the fastest way to leap to the bottom of your current view without scrolling.

Levels

  1. Top Deck Jump (easy): Jump straight to the top line from the bottom of the file to fix the class definition typo.
  2. Highs and Lows (medium): Clean up the X markers at the very top and very bottom lines of the file.
  3. The Triple Jump (hard): Remove the X obstructions at the top, middle, and bottom of the file.

Each level opens a real Neovim session in your browser with a start file and a target file. Edit one into the other in as few keystrokes as you can, then race the vimbot's solution.
