Special Registers in Vim

The yank register and the black hole — precise control over what you paste.

Commands you practise

"0
Deletes overwrite the default register, but "0 always remembers your last yank. Paste the gold, not the garbage.
"_
The black hole register: "_dd trashes a line without touching your yank, so what you copied stays safe to paste.

Levels

  1. The Golden Touch (easy): Distribute the secure token to all clients without re-typing or re-copying.
  2. The Black Hole Swap (medium): Move the production config to replace the placeholder without losing it in transit.
  3. Cybernetic Reorganization (hard): Move the assets block to the top, purge the deprecated lines, and apply the theme.

Each level opens a real Neovim session in your browser with a start file and a target file. Edit one into the other in as few keystrokes as you can, then race the vimbot's solution.
